Magic Wands

Hiya!!

I know times are hard and it's been very stressful especially now where we are in the unknown.
They've been thrown into this weird surreal world and with Z having breakdowns so I decided to make 'Magic Worry Wands'

These wands are so simple to make and are so cheap

What you need:
-  Colour Card or Foam
-  Wooden Stick (We used clean wooden skewers left over from a BBQ)
-  Any sparkly bits you find lying around
-  Stickers
-  Sticky Tape or PVA glue
-  G L I T T E R!!  (Because its just magic!)

1. Cut out Stars from your Coloured card or Foam
2. LET THE KIDS GET CREATIVE!! It will get messy but its their wands
3. Attach the wooden stick to the star with tape or glue

ALL DONE!!

Z & M Worry Wands
After the boys made their wands I told them they had to put the magic in it..

Hold your wands to your heart, draw 5 circles around your chest..
Put your wands up towards the sky and spin around
Place the wand on your forehead and whisper..
No more worries for me today; I just want to play!

They laughed but then they started sprinkling their magic on each other and was playing magic wands. I don't know if it worked but it was the only way i could get Z to stop being anxious especially when it came to school. He gets very upset when you talk about school because he feels that he will be forgotten.

I hope this helps some people

Public - Woolwich

Hiya!

Street Feast London had opened in a new location and its in...

Yup. The guys at Street Feast have turned an old unloved market into a trendy food hall. I went along and visited them on both Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd; the reason behind this was that on Friday it was so busy that we couldn't try everything on offer so we returned on Saturday with kids in tow!

Burger & Beyond
Parmesan & Bacon Tater Tots // Hot Mess Burger // Waffle Fries
I didn't get to try the burger as someone ate it all before I even took a bite! S said it was so good he wanted another one as the meat was juicy and it was spicy but not so much that you couldn't taste the meat. I LOVED these tater tots! The Parmesan worked wonders with the bacon and the potato! I had people come up to me asking what that was and where I had got it from as it smelt so good. The waffle fries was a big hit with Z. I had to stop him trying to eat it all as I took this picture.

Hens
1/4 British Chicken cooked on a charcoal fire with Lemon & Sage butter // Chips
We wanted to try the Chicken Bombers but they didn't have any so I thought that I should try the chicken and I was not disappointed! It was so soft, juicy and full of flavour! They gave us gravy on the side which I dare say would give KFC gravy a run for their money! We was disappointed with the fries as they was a bit burnt.

Ink.
Crispy Salt and Pepper Squid // Fish Nuggets and Hand-Cut Fries
The squid was the one I was most looking forward to but I was let down by it as there was no chilli flavour on the squid unless you ate a piece of chilli with it. The squid ink mayo tasted funny at first but after the first bite you get hooked on that sauce. I was extremely surprised by the  fish nuggets though as they tasted amazing! It was soft, juicy and so fresh.

Salt Shed
Butterflied Lamb Steak with Mixed Chips
This was very tasty as the lamb was still tender yet juicy and the sauces worked amazingly well with the meat but I do have to confess that this is my second time having chips from here as they was very burnt on opening night which made me scared about re-ordering chips from them but luckily they looked amazing when we got this meal and tasted so goooooooooooood! Especially the carrot chips!

Yumbuns + Yumplings
Pork Belly and Chicken Steamed buns //  Mixed Mushroom Steamed dumplings.
The buns were so delicious! Full of flavour and it tasted so fresh but I was let down by the dumplings. The sauce in which they used over powered any kind of mushroom flavour and it was very garlicy.

Lava
Hot Doughnut Puddings Double Choc // Salted Caramel
AMAZING! OMG! It smelt so good but once we cut open the doughnuts the sauces came rushing out! I loved it so much especially the salted caramel one! No words can describe these amazing little balls as they are just so good; the toppings worked so well with doughnut and ice-cream.
- YOU NEED TO GET THESE -

I would highly recommend you visit here for catching up with friends and family as everyone there are so friendly and welcoming but its definitely not a venue for a family trip out as its not really 'kid-friendly' due to being very tight. I will be visiting again but with no kids in tow as I will NOT be able to eat anything as the kids will be snatching food right out of my hand AGAIN!

Please Note
that this is a review based on their opening night so I will be revisiting after a couple of weeks to see how they've settled down and then give a fairer review.

Public - Fridays 5pm until Late // Saturdays 12pm until Late

Tai Tung Chinese Restaurant Croydon

Hiya!

So recently we went to Ikea in Croydon and decided to go for dim sum. We drove to Wing Yip as my mum wanted to do a spot of shopping and so we ate at Tai Tung.
Dim sum is like Spanish tapas; everything is served in small portions which you share.

Siu Mai (Pork Dumpling) & Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling)
These are the main dim sum dishes which everyone orders as it's just not dim sum without it. I'm not a big fan of Siu Mai but I did try the Har Gow and it was so juicy! As soon as I bite into it the juice from the shrip started pouring out.
Thai Style Chicken Feet & Chicken Feet in Chilli and Black bean Sauce
I know that it's a weird thing eating chicken feet but it's not bad. The Thai Style Chicken feet is typically eaten cold and its spicy but the ones here were very sweet so my mum had to order extra chilli sauce to dip it in; there wasn't a lot of daikan and carrot salad either so I was disappointed but the chicken feet in black bean sauce was amazing! It was very spicy and full of flavour.
Curry Whelks
I LOVE THIS! The curry sauce was spicy and full of wonderful flavours! J ordered this to try and between the both of us we finished it!
Spicy Beef Tripe
I'm not a fan of tripe but my mum and S loves it. I did try one and it was soft but it was so chewy! I had to spit it out as I couldn't break it down to swallow and I managed to suck out all of the flavours.
Prawn Spring Rolls & Deep Fried Meat Puff
I had a sore throat so I didn't really eat anything fried but S loved the meat puff as it wasn't too sweet but there wasn't a lot of meat inside. He also ate the spring roll and said that it was over fried so it was hard.
Char Sui Pork Buns & Chicken and Chive Buns & Sticky Rice Buns & Crispy Custard Bun
I love all of these buns as the actual buns were very sweet and complimented the fillings well. S ordered the sticky rice bun to try and I ate 2 by myself! The char sui filling was salty but worked amazing with the soft and sweet bun. I didn't manage to eat a chicken bun as I was really full by then. J ordered he crispy buns as she's had it before and said it was amazing; when it came I kinda avoided it as it looked so greasy and oily but it wasn't! It was very sweet and the bun was crispy but not very oily. I will definitely get it again!
Prawn Cheung Fun
You can't have dim sum and not order at least one cheung fun. Cheung fun is normally made from flour and steamed before being wrapped around a filling. We ordered the prawn one and it was so sweet. My mum didn't really like it so me and S ate it between us.
Beef Ho Fun (Wet)
As you know Z is very fussy at eating so we normally order him either a noodle or rice dish but he still didn't eat. All of us had some and felt that there was too much sauce even though we asked for the wet noodles we didn't expect it to soaked in sauce. The veggies was crunchy and sweet but the beef wasn't nice it tasted a bit off.

We ordered about 13 dishes between 5 of us and we couldn't even finish it so we had to take the left overs home. Apart from the whelks and the buns I found that this place wasn't nice as everything was sweet.
Dim Sum is nice as a family outing as you all get to sit together, catch up and try bits of everything but never go on a Sunday as its always busy.

Where do you like to go out for family meals?

M&S Cafe Lewisham

Hiya!

Me and J went to Lewisham to do shopping and we found ourselves starving! In Lewisham there's not alot of choice and it's very hard to find somewhere to eat as J doesn't eat chicken! After searching for an hour we found ourselves in M&S Cafe.

The Cafe is located in a tiny corner near M&S food court and everything from the cafe is from their food court.
Pot of Tea with a Mini Oat bite
Tea is a staple to my family and after a long day we always have a cuppa. We managed to get 3 cups of tea! The mini oat bite came with our tea and it was soooo good! I rushed to the M&S food court whilst our food was being made and was so upset that they ran out! I was so gutted but I did manage to get some other yummy bits.
Jacket Potato with Chilli Con Carne & Salad
The potato was soft and sweet and accompanied the chilli well as it was a bit salty. J isn't a fan of cherry tomatoes so I ate them for her. I poured the sauce over the tomatoes and couldn't get enough of it; It was tangy and sweet.
Shredded veg and beef bolognese
I was drawn to the this on the advertising board and it looked amazing but sadly I was presented with this. The veg didn't look as vibrant as the picture and the meat looked like it needed more tomato sauce. I took a bite at first and it tasted okay. It needed more salt and honestly a bit more flavour so I used the sauce from J's salad and poured it over the veg which gave it more flavour.
Fruit Tea Cake
I've never had a tea cake before so I thought I'd order one and it taste just like a hot cross bun! I loved it as it contained a lot of raisins. I had it with and without butter and I prefer the buttered side as it tasted more sweeter.

I recommend coming here for a tea/coffee date but I wouldn't recommend coming here for the hot food as it is microwaved. The staff members are nice and very friendly so that's a plus. I love M&S salads and sandwiches so next time I will just get their sandwiches but I will definitely get the teacake!

Kaspas Catford

Hiya!

Happy Mother's Day!!

As a treat we went to Kaspas in Catford for dessert. Yum!

Z got a Chocoholic. They called this a sundae but it came in an Italian wafer basket. There was a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a scoop of caramel ice cream. It says that you get a scoop of vanilla ice cream but you get a whip of ice cream which just tastes like milk. Z doesn't normally eat nuts but he loved it! There was  alot of chocolate syrup but it was mainly on the plate so he gave up scooping it off the plate. There was also a chocolate cup filled with even more ice cream!
S got the Strawberry Delight Waffle. It was a waffle topped with fresh strawberries, chocolate shavings and drizzled with chocolate syrup. The waffle was nice and warm and soft.
S got a Banaoffee and Nutella crepe. S loved her crepe and also paid extra to add M&Ms.
C had the Bananaberry crepe. It was a crepe topped with banana slices and fresh strawberry slices. She didn't enjoy her dessert as the chocolate syrup was very bitter.
I ordered a slice of Ferrero Rocher cake. I asked about it as it wasn't on the menu but the girl behind the counter had no idea what was in it and I thought I'd take a chance on it but I was so wrong. The butter icing was not sweet, the chocolate was stale and between the sponge layer was a thin layer of cherry liquor and it just tasted wrong! It tasted very alcoholic! Z loves Ferrero Rocher and luckily I didn't give him any. I didn't manage to finish it! I did finish the ice cream as I did have to pay extra for it.

What's you favourite dessert?

LootAnime Equip Unboxing

Hiya!

Sorry for the late post but I recently subscribed to Loot Anime subscription box. There was different price plans for the box but I decided to choose the monthly rolling subscription so I can cancel my subscription whenever I want. It cost about $30 USD a month including shipping and contains a box full of anime related items, some of these products are also Lootanime exclusive which means that it was especially created for the subscription box.

I received the box roughly around the 15th of February and I loved it! I was a upset that I didn't know about this box earlier and missed out on the first 2 boxes.
This is a Kill la Kill T-shirt which is a Lootcrate exclusive and I just love it. I haven't seen Kill la Kill yet as I'm more into fantasy based anime/mangas but I will try and watch it.
Dragonball scanner. S saw it and claimed it straight away! I didn't get to open it as S wanted it but from what I can see from the box its a cosplay item.
Steins Gate manga volume 1. I love how they added a manga because I love collecting manga's but its so expensive so to be able to put a manga in is amazing especially volume 1 as I can decided whether to continue to collect the series or not and you get to read into the story.
Another Loot exclusive. This amazing Kill la Kill tote bag. It contains images of the weapons used in the series as sketches and it just looks amazing.
Monster Hunter exclusive sword pen. It works. I'm not a fan of monster hunter and this pen is freaky. The sword is made from rubber and its just so rubbery. lol
Every month Lootanime adds a keyring which matches that months theme and I just love that its an exclusive design.
Hi-chews are fruit chew sweets from Japan. This particular flavour tasted amazing. The taste of Japanese grape flavoured sweets don't taste like UK ones as they sweeten theirs a lot more. I managed to finish the pack whilst writing this post lol.

Do you enjoy subscription boxes and if so which is your favourite?

Check out LootAnime.

The Great Harry Pub - Woolwich

Hiya!

So on Sunday me and my 2 other sisters decided to go out for dinner at our local JD Wetherspoon as everyone else was out.
Me and J decided to get a pitcher of strawberry daiquiri to share. It tasted nice as it didn't too much like alcohol but J said it was a bit strong for her.
I had the Hand-Carved Lamp Rump which was amazing! The lamb was nice and tender and the veggies wasn't over cooked; there was some crunch left in the veg and it was sweet tasting. The sauce which came with the lamb was so yummy!
Z had a kids meal of bangers and mash. He ate everything! I was so shocked as his very picky with his food. He took my mash potato as he ran out.
L had a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and she ate most of her meal up. She did leave the onion rings as she's not a fan of onion rings but J loved it. She said it was crunchy and not too oily.
J had a Sweet Potato, Chickpea and Spinach curry. J loved her meal but she did find that the poppadums were salty.
Dessert. As you know I have a sweet tooth and thus I had to get a dessert. I was disappointed in this sticky toffee pudding as it was dry and chewy but the sweetness was just perfect.

It was such a good evening as it was so chilled out and it was so welcoming. The price wasn't at all bad as our meal came under £40 for 4 people including drinks.
