Run Forest Run!

Hi There,
As Christmas is a week away all I can say is arghhh!! So much to do in so little time. I've nearly finished my Christmas shopping but I do need a few bits before I can relax.
Anyways
I took some time out and decided to eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. London.

We was told that there was a 35-40 minutes wait but it took only 20 minutes. As soon as we got there we was told how to use the 'Go Forest Go' and 'Stop Forest Stop' signs but the waitress wasn't very clear and I just guessed that's what it was used for and it was.
I ordered a Secret Mango Sparkler.
It tasted a lot more like water down lemon juice than mango although there was slight after taste of mango after each sip.
We didn't order any appetizers as we ordered 3 mains. I had ordered  The Shrimp New Orleans.
I don't know what was in the sauce but it made me wanting more and more! I loved how soft and fresh the shrimps was but I was disappointed with the garlic bread and rice. The garlic break was hard and didn't have much flavour and the rice was hard but the sauce and the shrimp is so worth it.
S ordered  Mama's Southern Fried Chicken.
I got to try this and the chicken was so soft and juicy. I ate the corn as S didn't want it and it was very sweet.
S had ordered a SMALL Mama Blue's Southern Fried Shrimp to share.
I had to type the word small so you could see. It was not small at all! It was a full sized meal. I loved the sauces! I couldn't stop dipping the chips and prawns in. The prawns tasted amazing on its own but with the sauce it became addictive.
I was so stuffed by now but S wanted to try the dessert but he didn't want one to himself so we ordered one to share and so we got the Best of the Best Sampler The Hook, Line and Sinker.
I loved the cookie dough as it wasn't overly sweet even with the ice-cream. The Strawberry shortcake lacked flavour and even though I'm not a big fan of bread and butter pudding I loved it. There was a lot of cinnamon and it didn't taste slodgy.
I would love to return to Bubba Gump's again as I can't forget the unbelievable flavours that was there but I would love to try other items.

Sushi Addict

Hiya!

So last week I had sushi not once but twice and at different places.

As a recommendation from someone we was told that this new sushi place was nice and good value for money so we ordered it.

Dragon Sushi

We ordered alot of rolls and we also ordered 2 Udon noodle soups and tbh it was horrible!! The soup was so salty I had to spill the soup out and boil water to pour in as a soup even then it was still salty.
The sushi rice was soft and tasted like plain boiled rice with no flavouring and left overs had to be thrown away as the rolls tasted really off.
NEVER AGAIN will I order from this place.
They only do telephone or just-eat orders so if you want to try it then goodluck.

Super Sushi Chingford

This is my first time visiting this place and I can tell you it was worth the wait. Super sushi is about 40 mins drive from where I am located and is different to most sushi places as they do a buffet which you order like dim sum so they only make to order :)

Inari Pocket, Tamago Nigiri & Unagi Nigiri
I'm not a fan of eel but this was so fresh and soft! I managed to eat pieces of it including a Inari pocket! As you know I am a fan of sweet things but I can never order Inari pockets as I find the skin too sweet but this skin was not too sweet.

Spider Roll
AMAZING!! It was so fresh and the soft shell crab wasn't very oily. The sauce complimented well with the sushi not to over powering.

Tofu Steak in Terriyaki Sauce, Yakitori Kushiyaki & Gyu Kushiyaki
OMG! Just thinking about the Tofu is making me dribble! It was crispy on the outside and full of flavour and on the inside a very soft tofu! I loved it! This is a must when visiting!! I didn't manage to try the beef skewer because it was all gone by the time I finished eating my udon :(

Dragon Roll
S is a massive Dragon Roll fan so we order one whenever we are out eating sushi but this was so tasty!! We ordered 2 of these and within 2 minuted everything was gone including the sauce!

Grilled Chicken Udon in Soya Soup
Me and S shared this and the chicken was so tender and a bit sweet which complimented the soup which was NOT salty lol!

There was alot more food which I couldn't take pics off because everyone was just eating so fast because its that tasty!! This is a place I highly recommend because its so fresh and tasty. It cost £17 (adult) / £8.50 (children under 120cm tall) per person for all you can eat although some items do have a limit amount of how much you can order but other than that you can eat until your hearts content!

Sushi Love

Hiya!

As you could tell I am in love with sushi and noodle soup! lol
So on the 23rd I went to do my theory test and stupid me manage to fail :( but its ok because S took me to eat sushi to comfort me! YAY!

We went to Taro Old Compton Street Soho.

It didn't look very welcoming as you had to go through a small doorway and down the stairs to get to the restaurant and the stairs looked grimy.
The restaurant was surprisingly bright and light but as we sat down at the table I had to use a baby wipe to clean the area which I was sitting as the table was sticky.

Korokke
Deep Fried Mashed Potato with Breadcrumbs and Salad
OMG! I loved this! Even though it was fried it wasn't very greasy! The korokke was just the right size for a starter but the salad was pointless as it was bland even with the sauce.

Taro Special Inside-out roll
It tasted like the other special we ordered so we was disappointed. I was even more shocked that it was only 4 pieces which I have never seen before as its not very pleasing to look like especially on a big plate.

Taro Special Tempura Roll
This was nice as the rice was soft and fluffy whilst the outside was crunchy.

Seafood Ramen
Noodles in soy soup with stir-fried mixed seafood and mixed vegetables
The soup was very salty and the portion was huge! I was disappointed with the seafood as it wasn't very fresh and so I left it.

Prawn Tempura Bento Box
S ordered this set meal and ate everything, it doesn't look like much but it was very filling. You also get a miso coup which came when we got our starter and S was so hungry he drank it before I could take a picture ¬¬

Overall it wasn't bad if you're on a budget and tbh I would rather of went to Yo!sushi as it didn't taste very fresh and I think that if they made a bit more effort on how to plate the food then it was be pleasing to the eye and more enjoyable to eat.

May Munchies!!

Welcome to May!! Hooray!!

I recently went to a Hen party which was being held at Grace Bar and we had to pre-order our meals from the party menu for £25 which was cheap for a 3 meal course.

Cod Fillet with cherry tomato salsa and butter reduction
The Cod was so soft and fell apart so easily. It complimented the potato chunks underneath and the cherry tomatoes but there was too much balsamic vinegar.

Italian Chocolate Fondant
This was the tiniest dessert from the menu, we know because there was about 30 of us and so we ordered nearly everything from the menu but owels.. The ice cream was so scrummy!! I wanted more and the chocolate melted very nice.

I was asked to bake some cupcakes for the bride to be and so I made some Ferrero Rocher cupcakes and some Flake Cupcakes.

April Munchies

Hiya!

I am so sorry with the late posts but I've been so busy stuffing my face xD

So Welcome to April!

Vanilla Cupcakes with Chocolate Butter Icing decorated with fondant butterflies and flower.
&
Chocolate covered Cornflakes with sprinkles and chocolate eggs to decorate

Me and Z baked some cupcakes and made some chocolate Covered Cornflakes for Easter. I had purchased a cake decorating set from Ebay and couldn't wait to use it. I started to play around with the flower and butterfly fondant stampers and Z loved them! He loved how easy it was to use and how beautiful the shapes came out.
Z covering his cornflakes with chocolate cornflakes

Peach Ice Tea
April in London became strangely warmer than usual and on a random shopping trip I stopped by Dunkin' Donuts in Woolwich to get this delicious and refreshing Ice Tea.

#DunkinDonut

Kaspa's Catford
S and I took Z to Kaspas again as a treat for doing well on his potty training! He can finally tell me when he needs the toilet! Hooray!!
Banana Split
We gave Z the menu to pick something as it was his treat and he picked a banana split! I didn't let him eat the whole thing himself so we shared and luckily we did because this had so much cream and Ice-cream!

Strawberry and Chocolate Crepe
S ordered a crepe all for himself and it was so rich in Chocolate that he gave up after 5 bites! lol I had some and found that it was perfectly matched as the strawberries were sour.

#Kaspas

Slug&Lettuce The O2

My sister had a leaving do at Slug and Lettuce at The O2 on a Friday.

Nachos
This is from the 'To Share' section and we now know why they don't do a single portion. The Nachos are HUGE (look below)!!! The Nachos wasn't crunchy like the usual ones you get it was very soft like a tortilla wrap which made it okay to eat but it wasn't special.

 HUGE SIZED NACHOS

 The Feast for Friends
Southern-fried-style chicken fillets, breaded garlic mushrooms, smothered BBQ pork ribs, crispy fried potato wedges, toasted garlic artisan bread and beer battered onion rings. All served with delicious dips.
I didn't try everything on here but what I had was very tasty. The thought of the ribs is making my mouth water and the garlic sticks. I managed to have 3 garlic sticks lol.
No leaving party is complete without drinks..

#SlugandLettuce
Nandos

How can I not atleast once mention the infamous Nandos (Maybe I'll get a Blackcard from this LOL) and S got so excited about the new menu items that we had to go and try it.

Churrasco Thigh Burger & Sweet Potato Fries
The chicken in the burger was so scrummy! OMG! It was tender and sweet and not dry! Hooray! The Fino Coleslaw was creamy and not bad but I prefer the normal coleslaw.
The sweet potato fries was NOT what I expected. I thought that it'd be cut up into chip size but it was a whole sweet potato cut up into strips. The sauce was too sour and not very nice but that wasn't the worst as the sweet potato was covered with salt which was disgusting! I had to eat the inside of the potato and leave the skin and outside which is my favourite part :(

#NandosUK
Five Guys The O2
I've always wanted to try Five guys even though I ain't a fan of burgers but it was so talked about that it was a must for me.
Little Cheese Buger and Little Fries
I don't eat alot so I opted for the little burger and fries and tbh it was nothing special. It was over hyped but the most amazing thing is this...
Strawberry Sprite
They had the most amazing Soft Drink machine! You can create what ever flavour drinks you want! I had Strawberry flavoured Sprite and also Peach flavoured Sprite! You can have as many drinks as you want as it was unlimted refill!

Celebration Meals

Hello!

I'm going to continue with my March munchies because I got kinda busy with potty training my toddler and its been difficult but his finally getting it! Hooray!!

so lets get back to the food..

S is Irish and so we had to celebrate St Patricks Day at TGi Fridays in Bluewater.
We ordered from The Liberty Menu as they told us it was new and I just like to try anything new.
Fire Roasted Veg Taquito Bites
These were amazing and it was full of yummy veg!

Boneless Wings
I didn't like this as I found it so cheesy even without the bleu cheese.

Bruce Lee Burger
I ordered this burger even though I don't normally eat burgers and this burger didn't help. The noodles inside the burger was so hard I couldn't even bite it. The burger was very spicy and the sauce was amazing but other than that I was really disappointed in it.

Half Rack of Ribs
S ordered this and wasn't very impressed as the onion rings seemed over cooked and hard and the ribs was dry.
I normally enjoy going to TGi Fridays but it was my first time at the Bluewater branch and I will not be returning. I went on a weekday and it wasn't very busy but it still took over 1 hour for someone to take our order and when we asked for the bill the waitress forgot! After waiting for another 30 minutes we asked another waitress for our bill.

March is also a special month for me and S as it's the month we got together :)
So for our anniversary we went to Sticks'n'Sushi in Greenwich.

Miso Soup
Full of flavour and very tasty

Upgrade
2 salmon nigiri, 2 tuna nigiri, 2 shrimps nigiri, 8 pink Alaska ura-maki, 8 crispy ebi ura-maki, 6 slices of salmon with a lime marinade, 6 slices of duck wrapped in rice paper with goma dressing, 2 tsukune chicken meatball sticks, 2 tuna sticks with chili dip, 2 lamb chops yasai sticks with seeds & miso dip.

Grilled scallop with masago, spring onion, lime & tsume soy

 Gypsy Big
Seared fish, spicy sauce, avocado, cucumber, chili, red onion, ginger & tsume soy

The Upgrade set was so filling that we didn't even finish it! The duck rolls tasted like a very bland summer roll with a very thin slice of duck and the sauce that came with it was very salty.
If you've read my previous post then you's know that I didn't get to try any sticks at my previous visit to a different sticks'n'sushi branch well the Upgrade set includes some sticks and tbh I didn't really enjoy it. It was very salty and I was so full after eating all of the sushi.
We both enjoyed the Grilled Scallop but the Gypsy big wasn't great as it was very bland and the soy used was very salty. Overall I found everything a bit too salty compared to the Covent Garden branch so I doubt I'd visit this branch any time soon.

Holiday Food

Hiya!

Well here is the 2nd part of my catch up blogging on my food ventures.

March

Welcome to Portugal! This is my food venture in Portugal but I didn't have enough time to take pictures nor did we venture out much as Z got ill over there and luckily I bought some Calpol over because having a sick toddler in a foreign country was no fun at all.

My view from the lovely Hotel Vila Petra. The staff at this amazing hotel are very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're on a family holiday in Albufeira.
http://www.vilapetra.com/pt/
 McDonalds
I know its bad but I wanted to try their menu and so I ended up with a  CBO burger. The CBO burger was like a normal McChicken burger but with added bacon and onions. I took the bacon out as I'm not a fan of bacon. The Fanta was sweeter and less fizzy compared to the UK one.

Inside the McDonalds there was a separate counter called McCafe and they sold macaroons and desserts!! I was too full after my meal to try any of these yummy treats but I wish they have it here in the UK.

We went to the Praia da Oura beach which was within a reasonable walking distance from our hotel and had lunch in a restaurant there.
Beef with Vegetables and Black Olives
S ordered this but it was very salty so he didn't finish it off.
Seafood Wrap
When I looked at the menu I assumed that I was getting a tortilla wrap but instead I was given a cold crepe with spring onions. I ate it but couldn't enjoy it as the wrap was soft and the texture was not right so I left half of the wrap.
I was still peckish and so I ordered a Strawberry crepe with Ice cream and cream! I shared treat with Z and he loved it so much he ate nearly all of it!
Seafood Spaghetti
I just love seafood and this was so yummy. The seafood was so fresh and the sauce wasn't over powering. I ate it all!!
Beef Steak Portuguese style
This is nicer than it looks, full of lovely juices and the potatoes was just right and not too soggy as the juice soaked into it.
I bought Z these Ice cream as a treat for when he was being good in the hotel. They both tasted like vanilla ice cream which wasn't anything special but atleast it kept him quiet for 2 days.

We had a nightmare of a journey on the way back from Portugal! I wish I could forget lol. We had a late flight back which was 8.45pm but the flight was delayed for 30 minutes; Z ears popped and he was screaming and shouting and throwing up whilst he kept crying for my mum and sister who was back in London and he was so tired but couldn't sleep.

anyways..

The next day we visited one of my favourite local places. Viet Baguette in Woolwich. I missed this place so much especially as it just re-opened around the open in a bigger location.

Homemade Soya Milk
I normally go for the Vietnamese Ice Coffee but they told me that they started selling soya milk so I thought I'd give it a go. The taste is very nice but it was missing sugar which would of made it easier to drink.

Summer Rolls
I have to always this starter as its so fresh but I must warn you that it does make you very full very quickly.
Vietnamese Spring Rolls
These spring rolls are fried to perfection, they aren't too greasy and when you bite into it the skins crunchy and the filling is very tender.
Bun Bo Hue
I love this although I do need to add more chilli sauce as I love it spicy. The beef was not over cooked and the soup was refreshing and even typing about it makes my mouth water!
If you're ever around Woolwich you must try this place! They make amazing baguettes aswell!
