Holiday Food

Hiya!

Well here is the 2nd part of my catch up blogging on my food ventures.

March

Welcome to Portugal! This is my food venture in Portugal but I didn't have enough time to take pictures nor did we venture out much as Z got ill over there and luckily I bought some Calpol over because having a sick toddler in a foreign country was no fun at all.

My view from the lovely Hotel Vila Petra. The staff at this amazing hotel are very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're on a family holiday in Albufeira.

 McDonalds
I know its bad but I wanted to try their menu and so I ended up with a  CBO burger. The CBO burger was like a normal McChicken burger but with added bacon and onions. I took the bacon out as I'm not a fan of bacon. The Fanta was sweeter and less fizzy compared to the UK one.

Inside the McDonalds there was a separate counter called McCafe and they sold macaroons and desserts!! I was too full after my meal to try any of these yummy treats but I wish they have it here in the UK.

We went to the Praia da Oura beach which was within a reasonable walking distance from our hotel and had lunch in a restaurant there.
Beef with Vegetables and Black Olives
S ordered this but it was very salty so he didn't finish it off.
Seafood Wrap
When I looked at the menu I assumed that I was getting a tortilla wrap but instead I was given a cold crepe with spring onions. I ate it but couldn't enjoy it as the wrap was soft and the texture was not right so I left half of the wrap.
I was still peckish and so I ordered a Strawberry crepe with Ice cream and cream! I shared treat with Z and he loved it so much he ate nearly all of it!
Seafood Spaghetti
I just love seafood and this was so yummy. The seafood was so fresh and the sauce wasn't over powering. I ate it all!!
Beef Steak Portuguese style
This is nicer than it looks, full of lovely juices and the potatoes was just right and not too soggy as the juice soaked into it.
I bought Z these Ice cream as a treat for when he was being good in the hotel. They both tasted like vanilla ice cream which wasn't anything special but atleast it kept him quiet for 2 days.

We had a nightmare of a journey on the way back from Portugal! I wish I could forget lol. We had a late flight back which was 8.45pm but the flight was delayed for 30 minutes; Z ears popped and he was screaming and shouting and throwing up whilst he kept crying for my mum and sister who was back in London and he was so tired but couldn't sleep.

anyways..

The next day we visited one of my favourite local places. Viet Baguette in Woolwich. I missed this place so much especially as it just re-opened around the open in a bigger location.

Homemade Soya Milk
I normally go for the Vietnamese Ice Coffee but they told me that they started selling soya milk so I thought I'd give it a go. The taste is very nice but it was missing sugar which would of made it easier to drink.

Summer Rolls
I have to always this starter as its so fresh but I must warn you that it does make you very full very quickly.
Vietnamese Spring Rolls
These spring rolls are fried to perfection, they aren't too greasy and when you bite into it the skins crunchy and the filling is very tender.
Bun Bo Hue
I love this although I do need to add more chilli sauce as I love it spicy. The beef was not over cooked and the soup was refreshing and even typing about it makes my mouth water!
If you're ever around Woolwich you must try this place! They make amazing baguettes aswell!
